FUCK IT! BUY ONE! I do not know why you would want to convert this? if its for speed, let me let u in on a little secret... it would barely make it any faster.In the right hands, a folder can be faster than a switchblade. If u want to do it for looks, dont, because it would be hadr to get a spring in there, and unless u had metalworking skills/equipment, id be pretty hard to make a release mech. for it. you would be better to go to a gun& knife show because the rednecks there sell them. Most switches are pretty cheap though. If u want an auto that badly, most internet stores for knives have autos, and most of them dont give a shit and mail them to you anyway(supposed to be a cop or military to buy them). I don't really see the point either? But if that is what you wan't to do, then it shouldn't be to hard. I would tear apart an old windup alarm clock to get the main drive spring. then grind it down to the width of the blade track, and bend itinto an open ended teardrop shape slightly shorter than the width of the blade. then rivet this spring to the back of the blade guide channel, so that with the blade slid all the way into the handle it would compress the loop of spring. a book from the library on clock repair will tell you how to work with spring steel.
