Ok  , KNO3 is also available in some fertilizers and in pure form in some brands of &quot; stomp removers &quot; . Besides smoke bombs you can make a &quot; flash powders &quot; which are used in firecrackers . It makes laud noise but it&#039;s not real explosive . Real explosives are different .
You can make flash powders KNO3+MG(powder)or KNO3+AL(powder) About 50/50 
Or you can ad Sulphur but it makes it more sensitive then .</description>

Salt peter is KNO3 and you may buy it as it&#039;s used as meat preserver , but you cant make  explosive from this , just smoke bombs etc.
I think you messed up whole thing and were actually referring to potassium chlorade(not chlorate) - KCl as its salt substitute sold in grocery stores .
You can electrolyze H2O+KCL and get KCLO3 but its pain in the ass , there are easier ways like making it from pool shock .</description>
