how to tell if your house is bugged

— Posted by redfish on 10:39 pm on Mar. 29, 2002

i’ve seen a couple of posts on how to bug some ones house but i need to know how to tell if some one has bugged your house.  i think my boyfriend’s psyco mom is watching me or something cause she seems to know way to much about our plans for springs break. i want to know if she’s just crazy and guessing right or if she’s watching me. it makes me really paranoid. it would be great if some one could tell me how to check and then how to get rid of the damn bug thingys. this is way way to long. thanks by

Ive never heard of something that can detect a bug.

But, I guess the first thing you should ask yourself is
“Would anyone want to bug my house?”
As for your mother in law or step mom or whoever knowing stuff, isnt it possible that your wife/girlfriend is telling her? Woman tell each other everything mate.

If you do find anything which can detect bug, then be sure to let us all know..

The first thing is to place a toothpick on your door when its closed. If it ain’t there when you come back, you’ll know someone was in your house or room. Then look and see if things have been moved. Paper, trash, folders, lamps, glasses, ect. and then look to see if anything is missing. Open smoke detector (set them off if you see a bug in them hehehe) and look for bugs. Under lamps, desks, chair and computer monitors are great spots to hide them. If a picture is against the wall look behind them. Leave no stone unturned becasue it might be bugged. Dont use cell phone and always open you regular phone weekly if your really woried. If you need to make a call about something really important, use a specific code that you and the recipients would understand (ex: The cat is up the tree = The burglar has entered the top level of the building) Do not ask where this information came from (and it wasn’t a movie because movies have hidden messages in them). I’m not paranoid because I know what the CIA does.

one very easy way to tell if your house is bugged is to turn on the tv or something – something that will make a noise in each room, or do it one room at a time.  then get a protable radio and tune it all the way through the bands on every band you ahve slowly.  if you recognise the sound, i.e. your tv, then you have a bug.  to find where it is move the sound source around the room to every possible area (use a different sound source if you need to ) when the sound on you radio gets the loudest the bug is in that area!!

I dont remember where you can get one, but i know that when your house is bugged, the bug puts out a certain electronic wave, and they have detectors for such things

If the bug is a typical fm transmitter, you can overpower it by turning on your radio, tv (not cable), or vaccuum cleaner in the vicinity of the bug. You can also get rather cheap detectors that look like pagers (look on the web).

If it’s a 900MHz or 2.4GHz transmitter, using a phone at the same frequency in the room will cancel out the bug’s signal, but then you have to worry about a phone hack.

You can get a more sophisticated detection unit for a few hundred dollars or more, but think about it: MOMS ALWAYS KNOW SHIT. No one will ever know how. I’d recommend bugging HER and finding out how she’s getting her information.
