Not very easily. Wiretapping isn’t done by attaching a handset to the pole outside the house like it was in the 60’s. 🙂 Conversations can be “picked out” by any of the various switching computer systems that your digitized conversation goes through, most likely your local exchange office. The term “wiretap” is a bit of a misnomer now.

Here in the states, not many people know this ,but you can call the police and ask if thier doing a tap on your line, and by law they have to tell you, swear to god, same as they have to tell you if thier police or not,
thats the wildest thing, my friend is an ex-cop and he told me that.they can do it,but if you ask them, they have to tell you that they are doing it.,,,only if you ask.

Wow… damn, I never knew that. Sure that’s still the case after all those lovely new civil-liberty-stomping “anti-terrorist” wiretap laws? 🙂 Not that I’m involved in any illegal activity, but it’s the principle; allows our executive government more leeway to tap in on law-abiding citizens.

You never knew that because it is NOT true….. the cops don’t have to tell you there cops and they surely do not have to tell you if they’re tapping you….. think i’m lying?? go ahead and call the cops and ask them if they have to tell you that they are cops if there undercover… you will promptly receive a “no we don’t have to tell you” Think about it, say an undercover is in a huge coke deal (like kilos upon kilos) and the person they’re dealing to asks them if they are the police, an answer of yes to this (which according to the above post you’d have to do if you were police) would mean death…. there would be so many dead undercovers it wouldn’t even be funny….. trust me the police are good at protecting there own…. oh, and entrapment as a law was always pretty much a myth made to look good on TV, it rarely worked when it was first introduced in the 70’s and never works now…..
