Look for “drano”

PS. Don’t type in all caps.

whenever you need info on one topic already discussed but can’t find it use the ‘search‘-function.

Heres my question…On this topic in the archives it says something about a “Salt Substitute” when serperating the sodium Hydroxide from bleach….Now does that  mean typical household salt can be used for this?

— Posted by Zambosan on 3:23 pm on Mar. 20, 2002

Salt substitute is potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride.  And household chlorine bleach is not sodium hydroxide, but sodium hypochlorite.

Yeah I realize that..But In the archives theres something about boiling bleach and adding that salt substitute and then cooling in the refridgerator and collecting the crystals…Explain some to me about this..Am I missing something when im reading it??

NaOH is sold in higher concentrations as caustic soda in hardware stores, it reacts corrosively with aluminium, releasing hydrogen(?) gas. You can collect the hydrogen in a baloon, or use the expanding gas to make a pressure bomb.

You can mix amonia with it to make a good explosive. Only with a starter explosive though.

a sensetive exploivse is aniuoum PERclorate,
bleach =anuium chlorate

“spleeling” wrong

Clichit, are you just trying to poison the beginners here???  That’s going to liberate chlorine gas, for those who didn’t catch it.  Not very bright.
