BAZOOKAS and such…………
— Posted by jmb1125 on 12:19 pm on Feb. 17, 2002
I like shoulder-fired big-bores like the LAAW, AT-4, ect.
Especially reloadable one like the RPG-7, SMAW and the Carl Gustav. Real hard-hitters they are. Can anyone tell me about propellants specifically if HTPB is equal to the military’s M7? Thank you.

I’ll probably finish building this ship in a bottle before I get a reply. – – – lol – – –
— Posted by OzzY on 2:10 pm on Feb. 18, 2002
yeah, i’ve build some of these while waitin’ for replys for my posts, too 😀
neway, all i know about rocketlaunchers is that funkee tutorial in the makeshift arsenal 🙂
I’ve ever wondered if that guy really got that thing to work.. >:]

OzzY, it works quite well !
few years ago i made a similar one (with bigger ‘barrel’ diameter comparable to the one of a LAAW) propelled by three estes engines (damn, these things are hard to syncronise)
these things are fun, but at that time i didn’t have the knowledge on how to make better explosives than bp which was kind of a drawback, ’cause the only working primer was the heat emitted by the estes engines…
for these easter holidays i’m looking forward to enhancing the rockets…yay 🙂
jmb, sorry i don’t know anything about military rocket fuels yet… 🙁
btw, is LAAW also the reading for anti-tank weapons (those disposable ones) or is this LAW?

hm.. could you maybe pass me over som plans, hergor?!
‘would be really nice ’cause i’ve no idea how long it’s gotta be, what it’d cost etc.. =/

well, it’s just as simple as this:
1)take a big pipe about 120 cm long and about 10 to 15 cm in diameter (i got mine from ‘bauhaus’ – part of old shelves).
2)glue some metal U-shaped rails to the inside of it (you need at least 2 to guide the rocket on a straight path – if it spins it will deviate from the course much easier!).
3)get one of these medium sized lead-acid batteries (mine has 10Ah at 2V). you’ll probably find those at any rc-model shop or you can order them from ‘conrad electronic’
4) attach a small circuit with two switches (one trigger and one safety switch) to it and use 2 alligator clips to connect a ‘triple’ electic igniter (three igniters soldered together under low temperature) to the circuit.
5) get a metal cap that fits into the back end of the pipe. (one with embedded thread works best – as you have to insert the rockets from the back side) drill 2 holes in it and put the wire with the alligator clips through them.
6) drill some holes into the front part of the pipe, about 10 cm from the very front. (this will ensure that the rocket does not loose speed because it is sucked back into the pipe when not creating enough expanding exhaust gases or whatever) about 10 or 15 small ones will be enough.
7) when you have assembled all of the above parts you might wanna add a socket for a scope or some other aiming devices (i used door hinges – making it look like a LAAW 🙂 )
for the rockets, they’re the difficult part.
it takes some attempts to make them fly in a straight line. you’ll have to experiment a bit.
here are some tips: if you take kitchen roll pipes you can stick a needle into them to balance them. the balance point ought to be somewhere in the middle or sligthly nearer to the back of the rocket.
balance it with fishing lead pieces.
you may experiment with two inflexible and two flexible ‘wings’ or else (the flexible ones are larger and the inflexible give the rocket good guidance inside the barrel – you’ll need that when using more than one engine to propell the rocket for they don’t sync that easy)
the rest is up to you…
if you need drawings i can e-mail them to you. any other help can be posted right here… 🙂

It’s LAAW, as in “light anti-armor weapon.”
I have two. They are inert, empty launchers. One is setup for the sub-caliber practice rocket. The other is the full-size 66mm bore size. I also have the AT4. It is inert, and empty also. And I have the HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) 66mm projectile, complete but inert.
No primer, no flash charge, no propellant, detonator, or explosive.

check out the AT4 at:

the info is great.
i like the rocket’s ‘wings’ and how they fold up to ‘flight-configuration’
(i think i got an idea for the easter holidays…)
but, does it really say ‘combat range’ 10 metres?

Omegaman, i want rangart’s BIG BOOK.

Hergor, what happened this time?
— Posted by Hergor on 11:51 am on Feb. 21, 2002
for me it works…
maybe the server’s been temporaryly down or something 😉
— Posted by OzzY on 4:41 pm on Feb. 21, 2002
hey omega.. wazzup? did i hurt you in any way or why do you swear at me??
and hergor, you’re right, it IS definitly an email service.. MY email service 😀
— Posted by jmb1125 on 6:31 pm on Feb. 21, 2002
Hergor, how come that second link (warcat) isn’t invisible? how do you type in red (?)
told ya i suck with computers.
— Posted by Hergor on 8:44 am on Feb. 22, 2002
oh, i see! that was your problem.
well then, when you want a link to be ‘clickable’ you must add the letters ‘url‘ in edged brackets before and the letters ‘/url‘ also in edged brackets after the link (make sure the spelling is right! 😉 )
the color can be changed by color=red (you can type several colors here) applied like being said above.
then after the colored text add ‘/color‘
you can as well figure out other commands by trying to quote a post where the desired effects are in (it ought to be displayed in your textbox) or just by looking in the help > iconcode tags list
(try it at my post)
just a little question, how did you get the first link done when you didn’t know this then ?
— Posted by jmb1125 on 6:31 pm on Feb. 22, 2002
i have no idea how that happened. as soon as i edited it (to put in the two-dots) it worked. makes me even more confused! thanks for the help. could you re-post warcat’s site as a link for me? i still can’t get it right.
btw, that spec. on “10 meters” must mean “minimum arming distance”.

phew, i just thought they were crazy… 🙂
well then, here’s the link again:
->http://web.qx.net/warcat/milsf/rocketlau.htm(just quote my post and look on what’s before and after the link and/or this line) 😉
— Posted by jmb1125 on 1:45 pm on Feb. 23, 2002
thanks again Hergor,
I’ll keep trying to get it right.
btw, there’s a military surplus store in town, they have a LAAW and an AT4.
(Edited by jmb1125 at 1:49 pm on Feb. 23, 2002)
— Posted by Hergor on 2:47 pm on Feb. 23, 2002
hey! how much are they ?
(if i got some money on the loose maybe you could send me one ?)
in germany there are only VERY FEW official military surplus stores (about three, i think, on the whole) and those do NEVER have any kind of weapons (not even discarded and useless ones)…
— Posted by jmb1125 on 6:56 pm on Feb. 23, 2002
you know what? i was just down there asking for you an hour ago. he only has one of each. and because they are “display models” he won’t sell them. gun shows have them, that’s where i got mine. they are not cheap, and getting harder to find. prices (roughly as follows. LAAW good condition complete $80.00
AT4 poor condition $100-$150 AT4 exellent condition complete $250-$300.
“complete” does not mean the projectile is included! haha

Ihave some bad news. AOL says they are not MAPI supportive but say if I download Endora or Outlook I should be able to send it (scan to email) through them. They also said I could send it (scan to my documents/
Well whatever the case, I went and downloaded/uploaded Endora and I don’t seem to know how to use it yet. Why is this stuff so damn hard???????!
It would be so nice if someone could take me by the numbers to tell me what must be done. OzzY, you are being helpfull in the best of your poor english abbility and I deeply appreciate it my prould German friend. You will be one of the first to get all that great info I have.
Hey, wait a minute, XplOsiv arn’t you working on something I readed a while back about adding weapon drawings/blueprint archive? Since this is really your web site I should send the info. to you. As that would make me affiliated member in no time. Maybe even a forum moderator, I dare ask?
I tell no lies, I DO HAVE ALOT OF plans, blueprints, books on homemade weapons, explosives, bombs, silencers, rockets, ARMY FM’s & TM’s, survival, medical, and what ever. Also on VHS tapes (U.S. format only)
So maybe you can help me, help you, help all. What say yee? As a foot note, I watch a sci-fi movie called; “The Quite Earth” made down there in N.Z. It was smashing.
— Posted by Hergor on 4:34 am on Feb. 24, 2002
wowy! all my thanks to you jmb! it’s a pitty, but never the less… gun shows, mmhhh…
those prices seem moderate (and thus acceptable) to me. so whenever you get to a gun show and there are those please get me one! (did i mention that there are no gun shows in germany, either?)
just tell me some time before and i’ll send you the money. (good condition, of course – AT4 preferred) 🙂 🙂 🙂
— Posted by jmb1125 on 10:19 am on Feb. 24, 2002
yeah Hergor you know if old Tom at the store had one to sell, he would ship it to you. did you know you can re-arm them to function like the original? hehe I’v done it. hehe. but only with my home made bp motors. still fun.
yeah considering the AT4 costs what, $1300.00 complete when it’s new, kinda a deal for $300.00 (empty) I will look/ask around.
btw, your english and spelling are perfect.
— Posted by Hergor on 10:22 am on Feb. 24, 2002
(maybe that’s because i think that german sometimes sucks. )
— Posted by OzzY on 12:49 pm on Feb. 24, 2002
hm.. if i understood correctly then omegaman just said that my help is good but he wants it to be given by xpl0siv to get a job in the forums.. perfect! then plz don’t forget to tell xpl0siv that you are way too dumb to post a simple PIC in an email.. yeah, you’d be a REALLY good mod.. not even able to post pics.. nor links i think.. and are you able to prog html-tags?! neither i think..
— Posted by Omegaman on 6:47 pm on Feb. 24, 2002
I didn’t mean it like that my friend and a thousand pardons to you, but you are right about me and my ability useing this computer. It is way more then I can handel (at lease right now) but I am still trying and I will still send you plans. You’ll be the first o.k.?
It was just an idea I wanted to throw at XplOsiv since that is his intentions one day. If he wants/ does not want my tribute, that is for him to decide, for he is GOD and this is hisweb site. I am only a man, an island all to myself.
— Posted by Omegaman on 7:06 pm on Feb. 24, 2002
Here are was sites worth checking if you have a printer you can print these plans right off their site.
If you have a AR15 these two plans will get you to rock&roll. The Lighting Link plans are by far the easiest
There is one for the AK47 out there also but haven’t came across it for free yet.
— Posted by OzzY on 9:47 am on Feb. 25, 2002
@omegaman: you’re an island??? *confused*
anyway, sorry for that post i got a little.. let me say drunk, and i posted it in rage.. well, just plz excuse it, and for your idea: i said in the forst of these blueprint posts, that i’d make a site JUST for blueprints and picturized tutorials.. and so i will! ..just got a lil’ dizzy ’bout your last post.. so.. aww fuck, enough english for now 😀
