homemade stun guns

— Posted by stinker on 5:14 am on Jan. 27, 2002

I’m looking for information on the mechanics of making a stun gun device, a recipe so to speak. What components would you need? How long would it take? Could a flashlight be converted into such a weapon? What else could be used?

Many thanks

(If you had taken even a second to search the posts to see if anyone had already made a thread on this subject, instead of just jumping right ahead and making a new one. You would have found that there was already one, and that it’s actually in the right section…THE ELECTRONICS SECTION!! seeing as though this is an electronic device!!! why dont you think for a second first next time!, huh?)

Yes how smart you are to call it an electronic device but alas it is also a weapon as the term stun GUN implies.  I’m just covering all the bases.  I needed an answer about this particular weapon and thought this might be the right place, I was afraid of the know it all nerds from the electronic’s site but see some escaped to the weapons site too.

Yeah im no expert on electronics far from it but i had this idea of making a stun gun some time ago but got fed up of wasteing my time and money what i tried doing was getting disposable cameras and taking the actual flash light out and makeing it smaller but after the second attempt at doing this and blowing screwdrivers out of my hands i gave up 🙁 But i think the principle is there? but im not uptoo 100% on capacitors so perhaps with a little electronic genius it could be done ? and would work out fairly inexpensive if you get anyware with the idea give us a shout at arsewrench@hotmail.com
hope the camera ideas been of help?

ive done a stungun using a disposable camera flash.
its really easy just open the camera up and take out the flash curcuit board (be careful wear rubber gloves or something).
Buy one of those black plastic project boxes from radio shack or something that the curcuit will fit into.
You also need a momentary switch, some isolated wire and two prongs (I used bolts and nuts).
Drill two holes in front for the prongs and a hole somewhere on the top for the switch.
On the flash curcuit there will be a small switch used for charging it up, you must also make a hole in the box that is right over that button.
Solder some wire between one of the capacitators(battery looking thing on flash curcuit)
and the switch.
Solder wire from switch to one of the prongs.
Solder wire from the free capacitator leg to the free prong, Put a battery in (there will be a thing on the curcuit that holds the batttery in place),
Screw box together. TADAAA!!! your done.
To use it press the button on the curcuit board through the small hole with a match or something.
Hold the prongs against what you want to zap and press the button.
Makes nice big sparks and cool sounds when used on metal.
Makes two red burning marks when used on humans.
(I have four of those marks myself :P)
Be careful if you have a bad heart this might kill you.
For extra nastiness sharpen the prongs and stab someone with this and fire.
This will most likely kill him scince the schock goes past the skin electrical resistance.

Sorry for bad spelling and stuff its 6 am. in the morning here 🙂

it might only kill someone if the current goes through heart or brain, don’t you think? so since you’re not aiming at the heart (and most likely not at the head) the current will seek the way of least resistance and will only go from prong ‘a’ to prong ‘b’…

Maybe your right.

Arrrrr cheers for that Radiant finally may be able to make one w/o filling my pants.
is there any way you could shorten the circuit so it dosnt include all that extra crap what no one needs like the shutter?and the wind up bits aswell couse there a pain in the scrotum also?

A stun gun is an electronic device so needs to be in the Electronics forum. Since there is already a few stun gun threads in the electronics forum Il just lock the thread.
