Chlorine is incredibly easy to make, all you need is an acid and a bleach. Be careful you will die.

Anyone that has mistakenly mixed ammonia based household cleaners with bleach can tell you that you most certainly CAN create chlorine gas with a simple chemical reaction…. no electrolysis needed. Since chlorine gas is heavier than air, I have found this concoction works well for gopher control.

Actually, I take that back – a quick search of webelements.com tells me that chlorine gas can be produced through a chemical reaction, but electrolysis is the easiest way and the reaction mentioned is a far cry from the one that this post shows.

Any high school chemistry student knows that making chlorine gas requires electrolysis and cannot be produced with a simple chemical reaction (for obvious reasons – I concur with atmomiBab – Google it and you might get a clue). Let this be a lesson to the young ones – any moron can post anything on the Internet.
